Dry Dock Marine Group Welcomes WeGoSolar — Marine Solar Installation BC
Sometimes the best partnerships happen by accident. What started as a quick trip to pick up a solar charge controller turned into an exciting new chapter for Dry Dock Marine Group. We are thrilled to welcome WeGoSolar of Chemainus, BC to the DDM Group family.
How It All Started
During the winter months at the DDM shop, our team had been working on the personal boat “Church” — adding a 50W solar panel to keep the batteries charged while the boat sits between uses. As a result, we were in the market for the right solar charge controller to pair with it.
At the same time, DDM was in the process of locking in a distributor for LiFePO4 marine batteries. In the shuffle, a lithium-only charge controller was ordered by mistake — one that wouldn’t properly charge standard SLA batteries. A quick call to WeGoSolar in Chemainus connected us with co-owner Drew, and the next morning we met to pick up a Morningstar 6A charge controller — the right tool for the job.
A Partnership Built on Shared Standards
In addition to solving our parts problem, that conversation revealed something even more valuable. Drew had been actively looking for a professional installer who could bring the DDM standard of workmanship to WeGoSolar’s marine and RV customers across Vancouver Island. Furthermore, it turned out to be a perfect fit on both sides.
We walked in to pick up a component and walked out with a new group member. Welcome to the DDM Group, Drew and Carolyn — we are excited to build something great together.
