Cobalts can have a few different engine variations, but this model of engine is a Mercury Mercruiser Mag 350 5.7L. It is 300 hp.
The boat is quite high performance with the ability to go over 50 mph. It is also a very stable vessel providing a safe, comfortable ride.
It was purchased new from ‘Rayburns Marine’ in Kelowna. One single owner, Paul Manning, from 2009 to the present. Paul passed away in January. Son, Dave Manning, is selling on behalf of Paul’s widow.
As of June 20, 2020, the engine had 281 hours on it. Asking $59,000 CAD.
The boat was only ever used in fresh water on Cowichan Lake. It was always winterized and stored indoors in Duncan during the winter.
The trailer is a 2010 EZ loader trailer. Currently registered and insured in BC. It is currently parked at the parents’ seasonal property on Cowichan Lake. Gel Coat History:
The interior and exterior of the boat is currently in immaculate shape.
Paul previously had issues finding a vendor in Duncan that knew how to detail the gel coat exterior effectively. That has all been resolved with Dry Dock Marine. They take great pride in this type of work.
From 2016 to 2019, the gel-coat was under-maintained due to these vendor issues. Paul had a large invoice in May 2019 from Dry Dock Marine. It was primarily due to bringing the gel coat back to (almost) new. That invoice is an outlier and not indicative of the annual maintenance required.
The May 2020 invoice is also a little higher than normal. I had every aesthetic snag fixed and some extra detailing completed in anticipation of selling it this summer.
